Larissa Jones has a lifetime passion for holistic medicine and therapeutic movement. Larissa has been teaching Yoga and Pilates for over 25 years. Larissa received her initial Mat and Standing Pilates certification through the PhysicalMind Institute in 2003. She became a Fully Certified Stott International Pilates and Total Barre Instructor in 2007. She specializes in Rehabilitation, Athletic Conditioning, Foot/Gait Assessment and Group Fitness. She has experience working with joint replacements, spinal and brain injuries, chronic pain, rehabilitation, neurological disorders and pregnancy.
Larissa originally hails from Seattle, Washington where she graduated from Brenneke Massage School in 1999 with a 1000 hour Specialization in Sports Massage Therapy and Injury Prevention. She has been fortunate to call much of the world home having had the opportunity to study Anthropology at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland; Ethnobotany in Napo, Ecuador; Yoga in Mysore and Rishikesh, India and Sound Therapy in Pokhara, Nepal. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Anthropology. Larissa has been teaching Yoga since 2001 she received her initial Interdisciplinary Yoga teacher training from Don and Amba Stapleton in Nosara, Costa Rica and later advanced her studies with David Swenson in Ashtanga, Baron Baptiste in Power Yoga and Shiva Rea in Prana Vinyasa. Larissa continues her education in Ayurvedic Yoga practices and received her 300hr Certification in Yoga Philosophy and Asana during her ashram stay in 2015 at Rishikesh Yog Peeth. Larissa is a certified Sound Therapist. After completing a trek through the Mustang Valley and high Himalayas Larissa received her Sound Therapy training at Naada Yoga Center in Pokhara, Nepal. Larissa offers personalized Sound Therapy session as well as group Sound Baths. Larissa achieved her Core Align Instructor Certification in 2020, Personal Trainer Certification in 2023 with NASM
Growing up Larissa was an avid equestrian practicing Gymkhana and jumping. She suffered a spinal injury during a fall and was later able to rehabilitate herself through the Pilates Method and Conscious Bodywork. Larissa enjoys hiking, kayaking, skiing, camping and photography. She has traveled the world sharing her knowledge and joy of movement teaching Yoga, Pilates and Barre in Cambodia, India, Japan, New Zealand and Scotland.
