Nutrition for Mature Adults  

-Thursday  March 7 at 9:00-10 am in the Bistro

Our nutritional needs change as we age—protein and some vitamin and mineral needs increase while our caloric needs decrease. We are more prone to diseases like diabetes, osteoporosis, and heart disease. Our eating can make a big difference in our health and function.  Come find out how you are doing with your eating, and what you can do to be as healthy as possible!

Getting to YOUR Body’s Ideal Weight and Fitness Level without Dieting

Have you lost and re-gained the same 20 pounds more times than you can count? Do you always lose weight when you diet, but always regain what you’ve lost and more over the next year or two? Have you been frustrated because you can never get to that elusive goal weight? Come learn how to take small incremental steps to change your eating and lifestyle get to a healthy place FOR YOUR BODY.  This is an introduction to a series of classes on weight management (you also have the option of doing individual nutrition sessions with Lori). Nourishing our Kids

-Tuesday April 9 at 5:30 pm in the cafe

Do you find it difficult to feed your kids healthy, balanced meals three times per day PLUS have healthy snacks available all the time? Are you on the run constantly between work and kids’ activities? Do your kids turn their noses up to the healthy meals that you do make? Come learn some tricks to feeding your kids a healthy diet, and dealing with picky eating. If your child has health issues that affects their eating, sign up for an individual consult at the end of the class. Lori has worked in Pediatric nutrition for 35 years—20 years at Seattle Children’s Hospital, and for the last 12 years in her private practice. She is the author of Healthy Choices, Healthy Children, A Guide to Raising Fit, Happy Kids, published in 2011.
